Initiatives

Our direct partnerships with innovative charities and social enterprises help young people access effective support that will give them the best chances for sustained economic independence. However, this alone will not create the systemic change needed to prevent so many young people from needing this help.

We are campaigners for change – our research identifies key issues affecting young people growing up in poverty. Our advocacy makes the case for change to policymakers, so that all young people receive the support they need to unlock their full potential.

Campaign with us

Our current campaigns include:

Successful school-to-work transitions

Problem: Thousands of young people every year are failing to transition successfully from education into the world of work; a lack of coordinated policy from central government can result in conflicting policies, over-complicated sources of funding and fragmented responsibility.

“Helping young people make it from education into work is no one person’s problem at central government level.”

Solution: A long-term view of employability from all parties, a joined up approach, with clear lines of accountability.

Outcome: Every young person growing up in disadvantage leaves education with the skills employers are looking for and makes a successful transition into the world of work.
