Summary: The number of young people umemployed for longer than 12 months has been rising steadily since the early 2000s. Although immediate action should be taken to get young people working, we must also address the long-term issues, aiming to reduce and keep down the numbers of long-term unemployed youth. This report considers the challenge of long-term youth unemployment and the actions that can be taken by policy, business and the social sector to address it.
