2nd Chance is a specialist ‘education to employment’ training course created to support NEET young people on their journey into sustained employment. During the six month course, each person on the programme is given individual support to develop attitudes and skills to be successful in their first career job role.
Young people work with 2nd Chance for three months as trainees, focusing on English, Maths and ICT Functional Skills training, live work projects run by project managers and working with their Career Coach to develop the attitudes that they need to be ready for work. After month three they graduate to become an associate of the course. At this point a variety of opportunities to meet and work with a range of employers are available, including a structured work experience programme, as well as continuing with the elements of months one to three.
