Impetus and education charity The Sutton Trust manage the £135 million Education Endowment Foundation, established by the Department for Education, to boost attainment of some of the country’s most disadvantaged children.
The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) initiates grants and seeks innovative and bold proposals from schools, teachers, local authorities and charities, to improve the performance of disadvantaged pupils in England’s lowest performing schools. Projects will all be rigorously evaluated, will narrow attainment gaps in the classroom and thus create a lasting educational legacy for hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged children.
It is envisaged that as much as £200 million in total will be allocated over the 15-year lifetime of the programme – with the extra money coming from fundraising and investment returns.
Selection criteria and information on how to submit an application are available on the EEF website.
