In 2010, Impetus-PEF set out to identify what was needed to dramatically reduce the risk of young people becoming NEET. Its solution, created with pro bono support from Ernst & Young, is a breakthrough programme, ThinkForward, which provides in-school ‘super coaches’ to struggling students from age 14 right up to 19. The highly trained coaches offer stable one-to-one support through challenges at home and school. They provide each pupil with their own action plan and help them to access other local initiatives, as well as workplace mentors, providing introductions to business networks and work opportunities. ThinkForward is being delivered in Shoreditch by Tomorrow’s People.
