Impetus-PEF transforms the lives of young people in poverty in the UK by backing some of the best charities and social enterprises specialising in this area.
We take our partnerships seriously – it’s not all about the money. We dedicate a package of hands-on management support and specialist methods and tools, backed up by an established pro bono network and an injection of unrestricted funding.
What are we looking for?
Charities or social enterprises working in the UK (including most, if not all, of your operation)
Who deliver programmes supporting disadvantaged children and young people between the ages of 11-24 to succeed in school and / or work
The prospect of sustainability and scale is important to us so you need to have an annual income of over £250,000 and help at least 100 young people each year
You also need ambition; sharing our aspirations to effect far-reaching and lasting change for disadvantaged young people in the UK is crucial
So too is a desire and commitment to developing robust data and evaluation of your programme to further the impact you’re making on the young people you support
What is the process?
We work mainly through referrals from people and organisations we know who are familiar with our partnership model. But we also carry out our own research, tapping into the latest evidence about what is needed to change the life opportunities of young people.
We don’t tend to accept unsolicited applications but if you’d like to find out more about our criteria, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Once we’ve found the right fit, we carry out some more detailed research, meet with the management team and visit the programme over a number of weeks or even months. This is so that we can develop a deeper understanding of your charity and ensure that you and your team understand and are comfortable with our approach and process.
