In the run up to the general election, Impetus-PEF has been focusing on the issue of young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) and how the Government might better support them as they transition from school to work. Following in-depth research into the issue, we are calling on all parties to commit to addressing this issue and coordinating an approach to reduce the high number of NEETs in the UK.

What do you want the next Government to do for young people?

From Monday 13 April, we will be campaigning on Twitter, asking to hear your thoughts on how the next Government should approach issues relating to young people. We want to hear from you, and encourage you to tweet a photo with your own sign on how the next Government can better support young people. Following the campaign, we will highlight your responses here on our website.

If you’d like to help us spread the word, we’ve prepared some sample messages to get you started:

Change must come from the top to #makeNEETshistory by the end of the next parliament. Agree? buff.ly/1CpLZfK #NoMoreNEETs

We don’t like the term #NEET. Nor do young people. What can you do to help #NoMoreNEETs become a reality? buff.ly/1CpLZfK

With 12 months or more causing lifetime wage scarring, the next government MUST address the NEET issue buff.ly/1CpLZfK #NoMoreNEETs
